Poppy Gordon

CEO / Pilot / Owner

Poppy is a line pilot and Glacier Country Helicopters CEO. She is from a family of helicopter pilots and was brought up in the helicopter industry in the Glacier Country region. Between her CEO role and looking after her and Gus’s two young daughters she doesn’t get up in the air as much as she used too but during busy periods you’ll see her helping out in other areas of the business. 


Gus Gordon

Deputy Operations Manager / Pilot / Owner

Gus was brought up in the aviation industry and is from a family lineage of aviators, dating back to when his grandfather began flying as a pilot in 1917. He has many years of experience working in various parts of the industry. His custom chartered experiences are designed for each clients individual needs and are fondly referred to as “Gus Adventures” by many of our returning clients. 


John Funnell

Operations Manager

John Funnell is our chief pilot and brings with him over 40 + years of mountain flying experience in the aviation industry.


Jay Grift

Line Pilot / Training Manager

Jay is originally from the Netherlands, a B and D Category Instructor and comes from a military background. Before becoming a pilot and instructor he has been a senior crewman and winch operator in both Australia and New Zealand.

Airbus Helicopters H125

Glacier Country Helicopters operates two blue H125 machines (previously known as AS350 B2 squirrels). They have leather interiors and 6 comfortable passenger seats each. Their large windows are perfect for your scenic flight and photo opportunity. They are versatile and excellent for operating in our high, remote mountain environment.

MD520 Notar

The MD520 seats up to 4 passengers and is a member of an exclusive class of the safest, quietest Helicopters in the world. Notar stands for ‘no tail rotor’. The MD520 Notar system has a proven safety margin. It also provides up to a 50% reduction in noise over other helicopters.
